Introduction

The Master of Laws (LLM) Class at the UGM Faculty of Law is designed to fulfill the need of experts in various areas of law which are significant for Indonesia, both locally and globally. It offers unique modules to enhance the knowledge and ability of the students in analyzing law in the Indonesian context as well as the contributing to the development of law in the global context. Equipped with an LLM degree, our alumni are geared to be capable of filling critical legal posts in a wide array of fields, from multinational corporations to international organizations.
Through our concentration areas, LLM students will be exposed to the expertise of lecturers from UGM's partner universities from around the world. Opportunities are open for numerous exchange and dual degree programs, with tailored schemes to the University of Queensland, Queen Mary University London, Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Leiden, University of Reading, and other prominent universities all over the world.

Language  of Instruction and Curriculum
Course materials in class, coursework, and assignments are delivered in English.
Once admitted, students of the LLM Class may choose one of the following concentrations: Business Law, International Law, or Constitutional and Administrative Law.

Eligibilities

Applicants who meet the requirements below, may apply for postgraduate program as long as enrolling at the same field study of bachelor degree or other study areas which approved by Head of Program :

1. Colored Photograph, formal dress and pose (taken looking straight forward to camera), with blue background.
2. Original certificate or legalized certificate. Certificate of bachelor degree or equivalent which are from accredited study program in the same field and / or related with the postgraduate program will be taken in UGM.
  1. Letter of graduation does not recognized.
  2. Foreign applicants must have equivalency diploma from Ministry of Higher Education in Indonesia (DIKTI).
3. Original transcript or legalized copy of original transcript
4. Accreditation certificate of bachelor degree or equivalent, under several requirements :
  1. Accreditation of study program is the current accreditation and proven by scan or print screen of accreditation certificate from the National Accreditation Board (BAN-PT) which still valid.
  2. The study program which the accreditation still in process of renewal, proven by receipt of submission form to the National Accreditation Board (BAN-PT), and not by the letter of recommendation from university.
  3. Certificate accreditation for Foreign applicants is proven by Letter of Equivalent Foreign Diploma (Surat Keputusan Penyetaraan Ijazah Luar Negeri) from DIKTI.

If the accreditation certificate is invalid, it will not be processed.

5. A valid Certificate of Academic Potential Test, validity is only for 2 years after the score issued.
  1. Academic Potential Test or Tes Potensi Akademik (TPA) BAPPENAS
  2. Postgraduate Academic Potential Test or Tes Potensi Akdemik Pascasarjana (PAPs) UGM
  3. Basic Academic Ability   Test by Association of Indonesian Psychological or Tes Kemampuan Dasar Akademic Himpunan Psikologi Indonesia (TKDA HIMPSI)
6. A valid Certificate of English Proficiency Test, validity is only for 2 years after the score issued. A valid certificate of English Proficiency Test is issued by :
  1. Academic English Proficiency Test (AcEPT) from UGM,
  2. International English Testing System (IELTS) under IDP institutions,
  3. Internet-Based (iBT) TOEFL under IIEF institutions,

Letter of recommendation from 2 (two) lecturers from previous program study, preferably Academic Advisors or Office Supervisor.

Health certificate from doctor at hospital or clinic.

Specific requirements :
  • Applicants projection in following the postgraduate program at UGM containing reason, expectation, plan of research topic , and plans after graduated (the form can be downloaded here).
  • Research proposal/ write an essay/ other specific requirement by the department or the study program is directly send to study program (no need to be uploaded) and please submit together with copy of registration form.

    • Applicants must prepare all the required documents. Late submitted documents after the registration will not be processed.
